Engineer – Transmission Operations

 We seek an experienced professional to assist with the maintenance of our Energy Control System (ECS), which uses SCADA technology to link the control dispatch center with stations and substations. As part of this team, you’ll combine knowledge of electric system requirements with IT skills to provide appropriate tools to our dispatch centers. We’ll rely on you to resolve system operating problems and provide equipment design, development and testing. Additional responsibilities include Cyber Infrastructure Protection (CIP), system monitoring, patch management, networking and antivirus programming. 

Required Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer design engineering

·     Knowledge of computer hardware, operating system such as Unix and Windows, Oracle, PI and communications protocols

·     Programming  skills such as Fortran, C++, Java and Peri

·     Experience working in a team environment

·     Highly developed communication, interpersonal, training and computer skills

·     Ability to work and support a 24 x 7 operation

·     Ability to travel within the United States without any limitations

Preferred Qualifications:

·     Knowledge of IT security requirements and procedures

·     Electric power utility operations-related experience

·     Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience

·     Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer’s registration or Professional Engineering License
